Lecture room hire at the Dorset History Centre

Capacity

The room can accommodate between 20 and 25 people in a boardroom or café style layout, or up to 60 people in a theatre layout.

Access

The Dorset History Centre is fully accessible, and the lecture room is conveniently located on the ground floor.

IT and other equipment

The room includes:

• wi-fi
• hearing LOOP system
• HDMI link to TV screen suitable for use by external organisations
• 98" TV screen
• Microsoft Teams access
• wall mounted audio speakers
• 2 flip charts and pens

Refreshments

You'll need to bring your own refreshments, such as tea bags, coffee and milk.

Refreshment facilities include:

• a hot water boiler installed in the room
• access to a cold water dispenser in the adjoining room
• disposable cups, holders and stirrers
• a vending machine with fresh bean coffees, hot chocolate and tea at £2 per cup

Hire costs

Weekdays

You can hire the room between 9am and 5pm. We have a minimum booking of 2 hours. 

It costs £21 an hour, or £15 an hour if you're a charity. 

Saturdays

We are open on the first Saturday of every month.

You can hire the room between 9am and 4.30pm. We have a minimum booking of 2 hours. 

It costs £23 an hour, or £15 an hour if you're a charity. We also charge an admin fee for Saturday bookings.

If you'd like to hire the room in the evening or on a Saturday when we're closed, contact us to request this.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel, give us as much notice as possible.

You will be charged a £25 cancellation fee if you give less than 3 days notice.
