This accessibility statement applies to content published on the booking system for our household recycling centres - https://dorset.hwrc.bookinglab.co.uk/departments

This website is run by BookingLab and Dorset Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 250% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website aren’t fully accessible:

  • The colour contrast on some radio buttons is not strong enough on the permit renewal page
  • The colour contrast of the text on the call to action buttons on the permit renewal page is not sufficient
  • Some text on call to action buttons on the permit renewal page does not display fully at increased zoom levels.

Disproportionate burden

At this time we have not made any disproportionate burden claims.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We have raised these issues with Booking Lab, the supplier of this platform and are waiting for a timeframe for the fixes. We are still testing and making changes to the Booking Lab site so hope to have these issues resolved soon.
