I’m a Solicitor within Dorset Council’s Adults Legal Team. I started my legal career as a Paralegal within the Adult’s Team. Dorset Council gave me the opportunity to progress my career by undertaking a Training Contract to become a qualified solicitor. My training contract consisted of three seats, working within Adults, Litigation and Regulatory Legal Teams giving me a vast array of experience providing me with the chance to learn and develop my knowledge and practice skills in both contentious and non-contentious areas.

On completion of my training contract, I was fortunate enough to apply and secure a position as a Solicitor within the Adults Legal Team. I have been working in this post for the past year, I thoroughly enjoy my work as I’m constantly learning and improving my knowledge on a daily basis. I provide advice and support to the client department on a variety of matters (i.e. including but not limited to Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Care Act 2014) and I manage an active Court of Protection caseload. My role is very rewarding as it involves providing expertise and working collaboratively with the client department to assist individuals in need within the local community.
