The Ferndown route is gritted as follows:
- from Ferndown depot, turn left onto Cobham Road to and around Cobham Road Roundabout to A31 roundabout to Forrest Links Road and Ameysford Road to police station
- travel to B3081 slip road (Ashley Heath) onto Verwood Road, Hurn Lane, Hurn Road, Matchams Lane, Avon Causeway, to and around Hurn Roundabout onto Parley Lane, to Chapel Gate Roundabout, Christchurch Road and New Road to River Stour
- return to Chapel Gate to grit to Airport entrance junction
- return to Parley Cross to grit onto Christchurch Road around to dual section at Longham, down Ringwood Road to River Stour
- return to Longham to grit along Ringwood Road to Tricketts Cross, to and around Turbary Roundabout, to and around Sainsbury roundabout and to Palmersford Roundabout on A31
- return to Sainsbury roundabout to grit Wimborne Road East, Victoria Road junction and onto Ringwood Road
- along Church Road and schools on Mountbatten Drive, Peter Grant Way and Cherry Grove back onto Church Road
- return to Ringwood Road to grit along New Road to Parley Cross
- continue to Longham and grit Ham Lane and around Haskins roundabout to Canford Bottom along Wimborne Road West to lights at Cobham Road
