The Dorchester north route is gritted as follows:
- from A37 to Melbury Road junction, Stockwood, Chetnole, Yetminster, Bradford Abbas to Sherborne junction with A352 Horsecastles Lane
- through Thornford Road junction to Yetminster, then Bradford Abbas to Somerset boundary at Stoford Bridge
- from A37 Dorset county boundary along Common Lane and Cuckoo Hill to Tarks Hill junction with Chetnole Road
- return to A37 and continue to Stockwood Junction
- along C29 to Tollerdown Gate, junction with A356, along A356 to Maiden Newton junction with Chilfrome Lane and past school
- return to A356 to grit to Bull Lane junction and past fire station
- return to A356 to junction with A37
