Dorset County Council (A Footpath from Verlands Road to the A353 Preston Road, Weymouth at Preston) Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2017

On 27 September 2021, an Inspector appointed by the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed the above named order as unopposed.

The effect of the order as confirmed will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding a Footpath in Weymouth:-

From its junction with the eastern end of Verlands Road, south of Pickwick at SY 70728319, east along a compacted tarmac/stone/gravel surfaced path, passing to the north of 30 Verlands Road to SY 70738319 and continuing east along the path (via SY 70768319) to the field boundary at SY 70808320. Continue east, entering the field and across a grass surfaced path, running parallel with the southern fence line to the field boundary at SY 70928321. Turn east south east, down a hill (known as Winslow Hill) and across a field to its junction with Footpath 27 and the A353 Preston Road at SY 71128317. The width varies: 6.25 metres at SY 70728319, 7.8 metres at SY 70738319, 3.7 metres at SY 70768319, 3.6 metres at SY 70808320, 2 metres at SY 70928321, narrowing to 1.2 metres at SY 71128317. Limitation: Gate at SY 70928321.

The order came into effect on 27 September 2021. If any person aggrieved by the Order desires to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or of any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the Order, you may within six weeks from 21 October 2021, make an application to the High Court.

Notice of Confirmation of a Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order - Highways Act 1980 & Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981

Dorset Council (Part of Footpath 30, Stalbridge at Hamwood Farm) Public Path Diversion Order 2021

On 22 October 2021 Dorset Council confirmed the above-named order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 as unopposed and the Council has certified that work has been carried out to bring the site of the new highway mentioned in article 3 of the order into a fit condition for use by the public.

The effect of the order as confirmed is to divert part of Footpath 30, Stalbridge as shown on the order map as follows:

From the existing path: The whole width of the path from the unaffected part of Footpath 30, at the southern field boundary at ST 76181867, generally north across fields and through the farmyard and farm buildings, continuing north north east across fields to rejoin the unaffected part of Footpath 30, at its junction with Footpath 29, Stalbridge, in the north eastern corner of the field at ST 76191930. (No recorded width).

To the new path: From the unaffected part of Footpath 30 at the southern field boundary at ST 76181867, north east crossing into the next field at ST 76201869 and north east across the field to the eastern field boundary at ST 76341882. Continue north north west along the edge of the field to ST 76321888 then north north east crossing into the next field at ST 76321889 and north north west across the field to rejoin the unaffected part of Footpath 30, at its junction with Footpath 29, Stalbridge, in the north eastern corner of the field at ST 76191930. The width of this part of Footpath 30 is 2 metres, except for 1.2 metres at ST 76181867, ST 76201869, ST 76321888 and ST 76321889. Limitations: Pedestrian gates at ST 76181867, ST 76201869, ST 76321888 and ST 76321889 (all to BS5709:2018).

The order comes into force on 29 October 2021 but if any person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 11 November 2021, make an application to the High Court.

Dorset Council (Part of Footpath 58, Beaminster) Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2021

The above Order, made on 22 October 2021, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by:

Deleting from them; Part of Footpath 58, Beaminster:

From ST 47990098, north of the property 16A Southgate, west south west, passing along the north side of the river to the unaffected part of Footpath 58 at ST 47900095. (No recorded width).

Adding to them; Part of Footpath 58, Beaminster:

From its junction with Bridport Road (A3066), north east of the property South Lodge at ST 47970094, west north west along a gravel surfaced path, passing to the north of South Lodge to ST 47960094 and continuing west north west to ST 47940095. Then generally west south west along a stone/earth surfaced path, passing along the south side of the river to ST 47900094 and continuing north west, crossing the river, to rejoin the unaffected part of Footpath 58 at ST 47900095. The width varies: 7 metres at ST 47970094, 3.95 metres at ST 47960094 and narrowing to 1.5 metres at ST 47940095 and 1.2 metres between ST 47900094 and ST 47900095. Limitation: Pedestrian gate at ST 47900095.

The above Order, made on 22 October 2021, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding to them part of Footpath 57, Beaminster from its junction with Bridport Road (A3066) at ST 48010098, north west and north along a tarmac surfaced path (known as Hams), walled on both sides, to the unaffected part of Footpath 57, east of 6 Southgate at ST 48000100. The width varies: 1.5 metres at ST 48010098, between 1.45 metres and 1.6 metres between ST 48010098 and ST 48000100, 1.5 metres at ST 48000100.

On 22 October 2021 Dorset Council confirmed (without modification) the above-named order as unopposed.

 

The effect of the order as confirmed will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by:

 

Deleting from them: Footpath 92, Swanage:

From its junction with Footpath 74, Swanage, north north east of 18 Alderbury Close at SZ 01567880, generally west north west, passing through a number of properties and gardens at Alderbury Close and Benlease Way, to its junction with Footpath 73, Swanage, north west of 15 Benlease Way at SZ 01467883. (No recorded width).

 

Adding to them: Footpath 92, Swanage:

From its junction with Footpath 74, Swanage, north east of 18 Alderbury Close at SZ 01567879, west north west along a tarmac surfaced path to the eastern end of Alderbury Close at SZ 01547880, then west south west along Alderbury Close to SZ 01507880 and continuing north west along the road and pavement, to its junction with Footpath 73, Swanage at SZ 01457882.  Width 1.2 metres (4 feet as specified in the 1950 Parish survey for Swanage).
