Walking dogs on beaches

Dog-related Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO)

A new dog-related PSPO was agreed by Cabinet on 6 October 2020.The Order will be made in the next week, but is then subject to an appeal period of 6 weeks. People can only appeal on certain factors and it is directly to the High Court. We hope for the Order to be in place before 31 December 2020.

Please note the current rules regarding dogs on beaches apply until the new rules are in place.
