The Arboricultural Team are responsible for the management and maintenance of Dorset Council’s tree stock. In addition, they also undertake similar work for town and parish councils as well as commercial customers.

This work includes carrying out tree inspections, providing advice and guidance, as well as preparing documents for planning purposes for development sites. These include Arboricultural Impact Assessments as well as Arboricultural Method Statements. The Team has access to a wide range of electronic diagnostic equipment which is used to determine the extent of decay in trees. This has resulted in a big reduction in the number of trees needing to be felled.
