Coronavirus (COVID-19): updates and advice.

Play area at Avon Heath

Changes to play area

Some of the play area is currently closed. We apologise for those unable to play on their favourite things. Some items are closed to maintain social distancing, others are damaged and we are awaiting their replacement. We are working to get this fixed.

From zip wire to sand pit, there's plenty to occupy the children in the large play area.

You can relax, or join in, while your children explore the large play area and adjoining green - ideal for ball games, frisbee, kite flying and picnics. The spacious play area includes zip wire, climbing wall, sand pit, tree house, giant insect climbing sculptures, trampoline and more. It is situated next to the café, Visitor Centre and picnic area - a short walk from the car park.

Exciting new additions to the play area in 2018 provide more inclusive play and fun for all through funding from Dorset Short Breaks Service.

Picnic areas

There are several picnic areas on the park. The main one is next to the café, play area and barbecues (for hire) and is dotted with benches.
