Discounts and exemptions

Council Tax discounts

Certain people can be disregarded for Council Tax purposes. If you're disregarded then you may get a discount on your Council Tax bill.

Disabled band reduction

If you, or someone who lives with you, needs an extra room due to a disability you may be entitled to a reduced council tax bill.

Empty properties, second homes and annexes

The level of discount for properties that are unoccupied and empty, second homes and annexes.

Property exemptions

The different classes of property exemptions available and the criteria your property needs to meet to be eligible.

Single person discount

When there is only one person over the age of 18 in a property, a 25% Council Tax discount can be applied.
