We can’t wait to see what you have been drawing, crafting and cooking over Easter.
We know there may not be many live events over the Easter holiday. Because of Covid-19 we're only able to offer a limited face-to-face programme this Easter. We expect these places to fill up quickly.
We've pulled together an exciting programme of online activities for the Easter holidays. And we're working hard to make sure there are plenty of face-to-face activity options for the summer holidays.
Find activities in Dorset localities
Some of our locality teams have organised Easter activities for children and their families to take part in. Find activities include:
Bring your own drinks and snacks.
Making sure Easter in Dorset activities are Covid-secure
We're working with Public Health Dorset to make sure all our activities adhere to strict Covid-19 guidelines to guarantee the safety of everyone involved.
Transport to Easter in Dorset activities
We have not made arrangements to cover transport for our current scheduled Easter in Dorset activities. This means you will have to make your own way to activities. We're working hard to make sure there are activities during the summer in every relevant community. We may consider transport for some specialist activities.
Free school meal vouchers for children during the holidays
Easter in Dorset does not replace other free school meal vouchers offered during previous school holidays.
If you're a parent or carer of a child who normally gets benefit-related free school meals during term time you will still be able to get £30 food vouchers, or an equivalent value food package provided by your child's school during the Easter holiday. You can spend these vouchers at your chosen supermarket. Contact your child's school to find out more about free school meal vouchers or food packages.
DfE holiday activities and food programme
Easter in Dorset is funded as part of the Department for Education's (DfE) holiday activities and food programme.
The DfE have funded councils to provide activity places (with food) for children who get benefits-based free school meals. Any resident who registers their child or children on the programme can use their pass code to access these activities free of charge. Many of the activities that accept the pass code will also be open to fee-paying customers too.
