Location TV and filming production activity in Dorset during this current climate should be conducted in line with the latest advice provided by UK Government and the NHS. There is no restriction or any form of official permission required for small news crews where the only equipment is handheld cameras and where filming will not cause an obstruction. However, in the interests of transparency and consideration for others we ask that you clearly display your organisation’s identity badge or a press card.

If you are carrying out commercial filming or photography activity (for broadcast/public viewing) in the North Dorset, West Dorset or Weymouth and Portland area, you will need a filming permit. Apply for a permit online.

consult and inform residents and businesses who may be disrupted and inconvenienced by your activities
