Shillingstone House was built in 1879 and has been lived in by the Salt family since the war. Set in 30 acres of stunning Dorset countryside, the house is in a secluded world of its own, and with only six weddings a year, you'll be ensured a unique wedding day to remember. Ceremonies take place in a gazebo in the garden or on the steps in front of the dining room doors and, afterwards, the two large lawns are the perfect place for a marquee reception. Couples have exclusive four-day hire of the venue, so there is plenty of time to decorate, celebrate and even brunch on Sunday. Music ends at midnight but guests can glamp/camp beside the walled garden and, here, can quietly continue to party round a fire pit until the early hours.
