Groups and organisations in the Dorset Council area can apply for a grant between £1,000 and £15,000. 

Town and Parish Councils in the Dorset Council area can apply for grants of between £20,000 to £100,000. 

We are keen to provide support for grassroots community-led development, supporting local groups to lead on what their community needs and wants. For example:

  • community infrastructure
  • the facilities, structures and environment of a neighbourhood which contributes to the quality of life and overall safety and health of a community

Eligible activity could include, for example, projects focusing on connectivity to services; crime prevention, facilities and infrastructure.

Projects located in areas of greatest need, for example activities that support disadvantaged groups to access services and reduce inequality in their local community are especially encouraged. 

You must provide at least 10% match funding in cash or funding in-kind.

Applications open on Monday 29 April and close on Sunday 30 June 2024.

After you apply

This is a competitive grants process. Grant applications will be assessed by a panel made up of Dorset Council Officers and independent reviewers. The grants panel will meet once a month in May, June and July 2024. Applicants will receive a decision no later than 2 weeks after their respective panel meeting.
