Our Team
The Child Care Legal Team comprises eight lawyers including three senior posts, three solicitor posts and a paralegal. We are fortunate to have a stable team in which there is a wealth of experience, in addition to younger solicitors who are developing their careers. As with all childcare legal teams, we work closely together in a friendly, supportive environment. Although the work can be challenging, there is always someone who can make themselves available to advise and assist. The positives about the work that we do are that it is:

What we do for Dorset
Every day is different, and every day is full. We work as a team, and we work collaboratively with our client department. We also have strong working relationships with private practice solicitors, CAFCASS, the Court Service and partner agencies such as the Police and Health Services. The work is varied, including care and pre-proceedings, fostering and adoption. We give advice, prepare applications and other paperwork, and attend court. Childcare lawyers need to be flexible, hardworking team players with positive, problem-solving mindsets, able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
