How to find out if my asset is already locally listed

Only Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council have an existing local list. You can view these on the Dorset and BCP Heritage Designations Viewer. This interactive map also shows:

  • listed buildings
  • scheduled monuments
  • registered parks and gardens
  • world heritage sites
  • conservation areas

The National Heritage List for England may provide more up to date information.

Requesting an entry is removed or amended

To have an entry reviewed for editing or removal, you need to submit:

  • the details of the asset
  • explanation of why you are requesting the review

Reasons for amendment of an existing entry may include:

  • the asset being demolished
  • alterations to the historic fabric have been made
  • if there is improved knowledge about historic associations
