On Monday 28 January 2019, we submitted the Purbeck Local Plan and the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Charging Schedule to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government for examination in public. We also submitted the supporting evidence and the comments received on the publication draft of the Purbeck Local Plan and the CIL Charging Schedule.

The pre-submission policies map (SD49), and key (SD50), identifies changes to green belt boundaries on land at Morden Park for a holiday park. The holiday park, and proposals for a suitable alternative natural green space (SANG), are referenced in ‘Policy I5: Morden Park strategic suitable alternative natural green space (SANG) and holiday park’ of the pre-submission draft version of the Purbeck Local Plan. The exceptional circumstances for changes to green belt boundaries for the holiday park at Morden Park are described in the pre-submission version of the Council’s Green Belt Study (October 2018). Because of concerns over the deliverability of Morden Park SANG the Council has invited the Inspector who is examining the local plan to consider modifications (as listed in document SD14) to paragraph 257 and Policy I5 of the pre-submission draft version of the local plan and prepared an updated Green Belt Study (January 2019) (listed as document SD24).

In the course of preparing the Purbeck Local Plan for submission in January 2019 the Council made a number of small changes to the pre-submission draft Purbeck Local Plan (published in October to December 2018). The Council has not referred these changes to the Planning Inspector who is examining the local plan as it does not consider that they are necessary to make the plan comply with the tests of ‘soundness’ in national planning policy or legally compliant.
