An Evening with Ollie Ollerton
- Saturday 9 October at 7:30pm
As seen on Channel 4's SAS: Who Dares Wins
Ex-Special Forces soldier and star of TV’s SAS: Who Dares Wins, Matthew ‘Ollie’ Ollerton has faced many break points in his life. As one of the first former UK Special Forces members to talk openly to the media and reveal their identity, Ollie has an incredible tale to tell.
Now, join him live in conversation as he shares stories about hardened criminals, high-speed car chases, counter-terrorism and humanitarian heroics. But it’s not all fearlessness and fame: Ollie has faced break points in his personal life too – surviving a freak childhood attack, run-ins with the law as a teenager rebelling against a broken home, his self-destructive battles with alcohol and drug addiction, and his struggles with anxiety and depression. His final redemption as an entrepreneur and mental health charity ambassador has seen him overcome adversity to build a new and better life.
At this rare live event, Ollie will take you through the highs and lows of his military career in what makes for a fascinating, interactive evening. Expect to be shocked, entertained and truly inspired. After all, it’s only when you’re at break point that you find out who you really are.
Meet and Greet: £40
Meet and Greet Plus signed copy of his latest book: £60
Geoff Norcott - I Blame The Parents Tour
- Wednesday 20 October at 7:30pm
‘I Blame the Parents’ is the fourth national tour for Geoff Norcott, following on the back of ‘Conservative’, ‘Traditionalism’ and ‘Taking Liberties’.
This time Geoff talks less politics (alright, there will probably be a bit), but this brand-new show will mostly explore personal responsibility, parenting and who should take the blame when things go wrong.
Sets himself apart from the liberal commentariat with a sharp self-knowing wit **** Dominic Maxwell,
The TimesWhatever happened to the idea of personal responsibility? In the age of victimhood, it seems like whatever’s wrong with your life it can be blamed on someone else. Governments, employers… some bigot from four hundred years ago.Where did it go wrong? It has to be the parents. Every generation there’s an opportunity for a new set of mums and dads to set their kids straight and make a stand against whatever trendy nonsense is currently doing the rounds. But do we? Or is it easier to give into fear and the pursuit of a quiet life?Geoff has realised he’s also a bag of contradictions. Raised on a south London council estate by two maverick parents, there’s plenty he has to sift through. His Dad was a trade union man who obsessed over stocks and shares. His mum was a closet chauvinist and far too frank on the subject of sex. With a child of his own, Geoff spies a one-off chance for his family to finally get it right and produce a balanced human being, but can he filter out his own bollocks before it gets to his son?
