Bournemouth Community Transport Volunteer Social Car Scheme & Hospital Hop Scheme

This social car scheme is a community run service to help residents in Bournemouth access essential services. Journeys for hospital appointments are not covered by the social car scheme. A week day shuttle service ‘Hospital Hop’ runs to Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals, picking up from all areas of Bournemouth for a fixed fare of £10 return.

Wheelchair accessible transport is available (subject to availability).

Where possible, 48 hours notice is required to book a car. Hospital Hop can be booked with 24 hours notice.

Who it's for

The elderly or those with a physical or sensory disability who are no longer able to use public transport.

You need to register to use this service.

Costs

The annual membership fee is £10, mileage is 60p per mile (£5 minimum charge). Mileage starts and finishes from the driver’s home.

Hospital Hop costs £10, paid to the driver. Membership is not required to book the Hospital Hop.
