Kayaking and canoeing

Learn to kayak in the sheltered Portland Harbour, develop your skills and push your limits on a journey around Portland Bill, surfing at Kimmeridge or on one of our river trips, under the watchful eyes of our top class coaches.

Our centre is AALA approved with highly qualified staff and a range of boats to suit all ages and abilities. We are recognised as one of the top venues for kayak coaching in the country and is the base for our Paddlesports Academy. 

Kayaking and canoeing options

These costs are for a 3 hour session for groups of up to 8 people:

  • Dorset local authority school from £167
  • groups of children and young people from £173
  • adults from £196

What to bring

  • swimming costume or shorts
  • pair of soft soled shoes that can get wet
  • towel
  • water
  • packed lunch if you are here all day

(wet suits are provided)

2 day kayaking course

For 12 to 16 year olds.
Dates are:

  • 3 and 4 August 2020
  • 27 and 28 August 2020

From 9.30am to 4.30pm.
Cost is £99.

Multi-activity courses

Children and young people from 8 to 16 years can try kayaking an canoeing as part of one of our multi-activity courses. These are 2, 4 or 5 day courses where you get to try a range of wet and dry activities, such as sailing, stand up paddle boarding and climbing.

Taster sessions

Our taster sessions are for children and young people from 8 to 16 years that want to give an activity a try as a one off or before joining a course. You can do a half day taster session or full day where you choose from 2 activities.
