North Dorset District-Wide Local Plan (2003) saved policies

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 came into effect in September 2004. Transitional arrangements were put in place to 'save' the policies of the existing Local Plan.

Beyond that period, a  direction was required from the Secretary of State in order for policies to be saved for a further period of time. A request for a Direction was forwarded to the Government Office for the South West (GOSW).

We have produced a list of  saved policies and also a list of  unsaved policies. Only 27 policies from The Local Plan have not been saved and they mainly relate to allocations or highway schemes which have already been completed.
