New Waste Plan
The new Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole Waste Plan identifies sites for new waste management facilities to meet the county's needs. Once adopted, it will provide the policy framework for determining planning applications for waste management facilities up to 2033.
Waste Plan Update
The Inspector appointed to examine the Waste Plan has now found that the Plan provides an appropriate basis for waste planning in the Plan area, provided that a number of main modifications are made to it.
The Inspector's findings are set out in the Inspector's report. The Inspector has also set out the main modifications that should be made to the Waste Plan. These should be read alongside the Waste Plan Pre-Submission Draft, including Insets 1 - 7, Insets 8 - 13 and the appendices.
The Waste Plan was formally adopted by Dorset Council on 18 July 2019. The Plan will now be considered for adoption by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP). The formal adoption date will begin two weeks from the date at which both Dorset Council and BCP Council have adopted the Plan. The main modifications recommended by the Inspector will then be incorporated into the final Waste Plan and published on our website. Until then, please refer to the Waste Plan Pre-Submission Draft and the Schedule of Main Modifications.
