If you are a developer building in Dorset, you will need to consider broadband provision.

Providing fast and reliable broadband to new properties can increase their value and be an important selling point.

To make sure your development gets a fibre broadband service, you will need to contact a supplier as early as possible.

Guidance from suppliers

Openreach's guidance: You will need to register your development with Openreach. If you are building 30 homes or more, Openreach has committed to providing Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) for free.

Virgin Media's guidance: Virgin Media has its own fibre broadband network.

Wessex Internet's guidance: Wessex Internet is a local supplier which can provide gigabit capable fibre to every building in your development.

Syscomm's guidance: Syscomm works with freeholders, developers, property managers and residents to bring broadband services to residential and business developments.

Hyperoptic can also provide full fibre broadband to new developments.

Guidance from the Government

The Government has worked with Openreach and the Home Builders Federation (HBF) on an agreement which aims to deliver superfast broadband connectivity to new build properties in the UK.
