East Dorset - Wimborne Resident Permit terms and conditions
Terms and conditions of use
Permits are issued subject to the current East Dorset Off Street Parking Places Consolidation Order and to the following general terms and conditions:
to qualify for a resident's parking permit you must be resident at a Wimborne town centre address with public highway parking restrictions and with no off-street parking
the resident's parking permit is limited to one permit per vehicle owner per qualifying household and is valid only in Allenview North & West, Poole Road, Westfield Close, Pye Corner, Leigh Road and Old Road car parks
the permit is not transferable and is not valid on any vehicle except that specified on the electronic application form. If you change your vehicle during the lifetime of the permit you must update the online system and upload a copy of the DVLA registration document of the replacement vehicle for verification by the car parks team
vehicles are admitted and left at the owner's risk. Dorset Council will not be liable for any loss or damage to the vehicle or its contents unless caused by the negligence of the council
the issue of a car park permit is subject to the vehicle being of a type authorised and used in accordance with the Parking Order(s) currently in force. The council reserves the right to withdraw the use of a car park permit or issue a Penalty Charge Notice for infringements of the Parking Order(s)
the offer of a car park permit places no obligation on Dorset Council to provide a parking space
if you cease to qualify for a resident's parking permit any permit issued will immediately become invalid. If this happens please inform the council using the contact details below
in the event of a query about parking permits please contact us quoting your name, address and permit number in any correspondence
The definition of the following in the current East Dorset Off Street Parking Places Consolidation Order is:
- Resident of the Borough - means a person who is resident within East Dorset on the date of application and whose name would normally appear on the Electoral Register
Vehicle Excise Licence and Certificate of Insurance
Parking permit holders are reminded that it is a condition of the current East Dorset Off Street Parking Places Consolidation Order that the specified vehicle must be properly and currently taxed and insured when located in any of the council car parks specified in the Order.
Road Traffic Act 1991
Permit holders are advised that it is an offence to ignore direction signs, arrows and speed restrictions in off street car parks. Prosecution can be brought by the Police under the above Act.
No refunds are available for Wimborne Resident Permits.

Dorset Council will use any data provided within this electronic application for the issuing of parking permits and the detection of outstanding enforcement notices. It may also be disclosed to other departments within the council or external parties for related purposes or as required by law. All processing of this data will be in accordance with GDPR 2018.
Personal and sensitive personal information can include, for example, your name, address, email address, registration number and any physical health information provided at the time of application.

This authority is required by law to protect the public funds it administers. It may share information provided to it with other bodies responsible for auditing or administering public funds, in order to prevent and detect fraud.
