Empty property loans in Purbeck
Help is available to help bring long term empty property back into use in the Purbeck area. The scheme, will enable a loan of up to £25,000 to be offered to the owners of long term empty properties in this area. If you are interested, please complete and return our empty property loans form.
There are also a number of ways we can help private landlords in Purbeck secure tenants for empty properties through another scheme providing support and financial aid:
- provide a rent in advance payment
- provide a deposit bond to secure your property
- ensure that, if the tenant is claiming benefits and the property is within Purbeck, any Housing Benefit is paid directly to you
- provide 4-month and 10-month check-ups to ensure that any issues that may develop over time are resolved
Although there are relatively small numbers of long term empty properties across Dorset, the council sees it as a priority to bring as many of them back into use as possible.
One of the council's core aims is to meet the housing needs of local people. With many environmental restraints on land use and the development of new housing being restricted in some areas it is important that the current housing stock is fully utilised.
