How do I know if a venue or activity is accessible?
To find out if a venue or activity is accessible:
- check the venue or activity website - you may need to check their FAQ's
- call the venue
- visit the venue
Discuss your needs with a member of staff of the venue in advance. They might be able to make special arrangements if needed.
Cinemas

Visit Your Local Cinema to find a cinema near you with subtitles.
Special adjustments
You can also apply for a CEA card. The card ensures that participating cinemas make adjustments to suit your needs when you visit. You can also get one free ticket for someone to go with you.
Visit the CEA Card website to find out:
- if you are eligible
- where you can use the card
- how to apply
You don't need to have a CEA Card for to get an adjustment. All cinemas must make adjustments.
Autism
You can access autism friendly film screenings each month at many cinemas in Dorset. The cinemas play the films in a sensory friendly and inclusive environment. They are available to:
- families
- children
- young people
- carers
