Admission criteria


We admit pupils with an education, health and care (EHC) plan.
Admission is through the local authority panel process.


This young man's teachers are all so proud of the fantastic progress he has made this year and all that he has achieved. It has been wonderful to see how he has matured and grown in confidence. He is a joy to interact and spend time with and he is always full of giggles and has a cheeky smile. He has benefited tremendously this year by starting to use Proloquo2go, his iPad app, to communicate what he wants. It was wonderful to see the joy in his face as he began to learn that he could use it to communicate to people and voice his wants and needs and especially to ask for his favourite things like McDonalds!

Curriculum


In addition to the national curriculum, Beaucroft offers a personalised, innovative curriculum to meet particular learning needs, focussed on practical community-based learning, creating a friendly, caring environment where children positively thrive.

Qualifications


We provide children with opportunities to make a contribution to their learning, the class, school and the local community.


The quality of teaching, learning and assessment is consistently high. Staff know each pupil exceptionally well. This means staff plan activities which precisely meet the needs of pupils and which enable them to learn well and thrive. Activities planned excite, motivate and inspire pupils'

Next steps and transitions


Special school places are not always permanent. Every year a child or young person's special school placement will be reviewed as part of their education, health and care (EHC) plan review process and will discuss various options including:

  • into adulthood
  • life skills
  • developing independence
  • sixth form choices
  • Local Offer after 16 years and after 19 years

Wellbeing and therapies


Beaucroft is a special place where children feel valued and staff ensure that learning needs are met.
We also have our own in-house speech and language therapy (SALT) team.

Facilities and environment


We aim to ensure our pupils are happy, healthy and safe.
