At this nursery we offer a programme based on learning through play, fun and enjoyment. We want children to 'switch on' to learning from a very early age and hope they will be confident, investigative learners. We support this by offering first-hand experiences and observing children's interests to help extend their learning.

Shaftesbury Children's Centre Nursery session times


We provide up to 40 places for the following session times:

  • 8am to 1pm: morning session
  • 1pm to 6pm: afternoon session
  • 8am to 6pm: whole day session
  • 9am to midday: shorter morning session
  • 1pm to 4pm: shorter afternoon session

The sessions depend on your child's age.

We charge the following fees:


For 0 to 2 years age group:

  • £43 for a full day
  • £23.50 for a half day

For 2 to 3 years age group:
  • £42 for a full day
  • £23 for a half day

For 3 to 5 years age group:
  • £40 for a full day
  • £22 for a half day


Fees for meals


We provide free breakfast and snacks.
Parents must provide lunch and/or dinner.

Meals at Shaftesbury Children's Centre Nursery


We provide breakfast and snacks to children free of charge.
Parents must provide lunch and/or dinner if their child is at nursery during those sessions.

Childcare funding


We provide spaces for children who receive 2, 3 and 4 year old childcare funding. This includes 30 hours free childcare (subject to availability). We offer term time or 'stretched' funding in blocks of 5 hours.

When you can use funding at Blandford Children's Centre Nursery

Funded sessions can be term time or spread over the holidays in blocks of 5 hours. This is equal to:
  • 3 sessions per week during the school term
  • 2 sessions per week all year, for sessions spread over the holidays. This includes school holidays

Sessions run from:
  • 8am to 1pm
  • 1pm to 6pm
