Pastoral care and extra support
Oscars provides support to all children and their families who need it. As part of Blandford Children's centre, they have direct contact with professionals who support families. They also have close links with local schools to make sure each child's needs are met and to talk about any concerns they may have. The club try to ensure they have time to talk and listen to all children and parents.
The safety of all children is key to Oscars. The club provides safe premises for children to explore and grow.
The nursery follows the Safeguarding Children Policy. This is used when there is a concern for a child's well-being or safety. It ensures that children and families get the support they deserve to keep them safe.
The nursery has a Designated Safeguarding Officer (the Blandford Children's Centre team leader) and Deputy Safeguarding Officer (Oscars childcare supervisor).
For support and advice, contact the club. If you have a concern about a child, see our child protection page.
Before hiring a member of staff, the nursery will:
- do an enhanced DBS (suitability) check
- explore their work history
- check references and supervision
