Activities and facilities


Activity play rooms

There are 2 main rooms with a range of toys and activities. These include: 

  • puzzles, bingo and board games
  • snooker and pool
  • air hockey and table football
  • dressing up clothes and other resources for role play
  • dolls, cars, trains, roads and tracks, Lego, wooden bricks
  • cooking and baking equipment
  • face paints
  • books
  • DVDs, playstations, X-box and tablets
  • den making resources

Art and craft room

In the arts and crafts room children get the chance to be creative with paint, sculptures and other crafts. Children can use the room to socialise, play and enjoy snacks.

Outdoor activities

Oscars has a garden where children can play and carry out activities. Children can:

  • choose from range of sport equipment
  • play on scooters
  • play table tennis
  • practice forest skills
  • use the garden for quiet time, such as reading

The club also use the dedicated wildlife area and grounds of Archbishop Wake School. Here children can take part in games and sports with larger teams.

Holiday club trips and visits

During holiday club the children can enjoy visits from speakers, trips and activities. These include:

  • animal experts
  • sports such as yoga, martial art, kayaking and climbing
  • visits to local attractions 
  • visits to local parks

Meals and cooking

Oscars do not provide meals, but do provide snacks. On occasions the club:

  • have barbeques
  • arrange pizza making with the children
  • organise picnics
  • bake with the children
