Registering as a carer and renewing your carers card

Register as a carer in Dorset

Register as a carer with Carer Support Dorset to keep you up to date with local events, training courses and more. It's quick, easy and free to join.

When you join you will receive information and advice about carers services including local support groups, the latest copy of Caring Matters, a Dorset-wide magazine for carers and a carers discount card.

The person you are caring for should be aged 18 or over. You can get help as a carer regardless of whether the person you care for gets support from the council or pays for their own care.

Register as a carer

Register as a carer in Dorset to join the Carers Information Service. Complete a form online or phone 0800 368 8349 for Carer Support Dorset or 01202 458204 for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council.

Carers card scheme

The carers card is available if you have registered as a carer with Care Support Dorset or Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council. The scheme offers a range of discounts on goods or services including:

  • days out and activities
  • travel and holidays
  • health and beauty
  • sport and fitness
  • places to eat and drink

Renewing your carers card

Your carers card will expire after five years. To renew your carers card, phone 0800 368 8349 if you live in Dorset or 01202 458204 if you live in Bournemouth, Christchurch or Poole.
