As well as having a hackney carriage (taxi) or private hire vehicle driver's licence, your vehicle must also be licensed to work within one of our zones.

Read the requirements below and then choose the area where you'll be driving your taxi or private hire vehicle.
After you apply
If you are applying for a new vehicle or even if you a renewing a licence, once you have applied and paid for your licence, you need to email us a copy of the following documents:
- a current MOT certificate
- the insurance document for the vehicle
- the V5 Document for the vehicle
You must also arrange for the vehicle to be inspected at an approved garage and send us the inspection report.
We will only consider your application once we've received all of the relevant documentation and payment.
