Dorset Council's Asset Management Plan 2015-2018 sets out our strategic property aims with targets to address the challenging financial climate in Dorset. In addition, we are progressing a baseline property portfolio approach which seeks to transform its current estate, reconfiguring it to significantly reduce its floor area and re-focus its purpose.
The Asset Management Plan is based on a three year cycle to reflect the changes in the organisation and the Forward Together initiatives currently under way promoting flexible working alongside smarter computing. We recognise that the land and buildings from which we deliver services have a key role in delivering the necessary change and influencing how we provide services now and in the future.
We continue to work with all public sector bodies in Dorset to deliver a common vision and where feasible, to share assets. Dorset's Joint Asset Management Programme fits well with the government's 'One Public Sector Estate' philosophy with a special focus this year working with community groups, the third sector and voluntary groups.
The Asset Management Plan contains 10 performance indicators. Progress against each indicator is summarised in the Progress against Asset Management Plan KPIs June 2018. The document also sets out our capital spending priorities. Details of the total capital performance for each capital project is available in the Capital Programme - Cabinet December 2017. This document is updated on a quarterly basis.
